Replacing colors?

Is it possible to replace all the colors used in a specific swatch with another color without having to select every object that the first color is applied to? How is this accomplished? Thanks!

Replacing colors?

Is the color in question used in both fills and strokes? If yes, create a duplicate of the swatch, then choose one and from the select menu, Select%26gt;Same%26gt;Fill Color. Option-Drag the new swatch to the old swatch. Then click on the duplicate swatch and Select%26gt;Same%26gt;Stroke Color and repeat the process. It won't work on Gradients.

Replacing colors?

Option dragging a swatch onto another swatch will replace the one with the other, and also assign the new color everywhere that the old color was assigned.

Outstanding. Thank you.

It only worked for me when the items were selected.

Use Merge Swatches in the flyout of the Swatches panel.

First (in the Swatches panel) click the Swatch that you want saved. Then Command-click (on the Mac) each additional Swatch that you want the first Swatch to replace. Then go to the flyout and select Merge Swatches.

Be aware that there are some limitations. I think the colors must be Global colors for this to work.

Oh!?You're right!?Sorry for the misleading answer... I could have sworn that worked... (and I did try it before posting before, but too simplistically I guess!)
