This is driving me crazy and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.?I'm watching a tutorial about gradient mesh and following instructions step by step and it says you can Ctrl-Click to toggle view mode (Ctrl-Click on the Eye Symbol next to the layer) and you will still be able to see the lines in your gradient mesh but you can also see the contents behind it.?It even shows a tool-tip in the video when you hover over the eye.?I get no tool tip and its either on or off...visibile or not.?What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting somewhere or something?
Cannot Ctrl-Click to toggel view mode.Sorry I forgot I am working with CS4 by the way.
Cannot Ctrl-Click to toggel view mode.Windows or Mac??On the mac, you want to command-click the eye.?Not sure on Windows.
Windows would be Ctrl-Click.
Sorry it is Windows and that does not work. I know thats what you are supposed to push but all it does is make the whole layer visible or not.?I have no idea what the problem is.
When you do it, is it changing the eye like this to the hollow eye?
I saw that in the tutorial and no it does not do that. Ctrl or not if you click and eye symbol it either goes away or comes back but does not go hollow like that.
If you have a tool selected (any tool except a selection tool) and push the Ctrl key does a selection arrow appear?
Yes it does turn to the black selection tool when I hold down ctrl.
Then open a new file. Open the Layers panel. Hold down the Control key and single-click on the eye at the left of the layer name. Does it not change to an unfilled eye?
Thank you for all your help.?Wow I feel foolish. I guess I wasnt paying close enough attention to the fuctionality and didnt realize it can only be done on an actual layer (as opposed to items in a layer, which is what I was trying to do) But again thanks for helping me stumble awkwardly upon this. Good thing its about time to leave for the weekend.
