JPEG image?

When I insert a JPEG image into Flash CS4 I am never allowed to edit the image, why is this?

because flash is a vector, not a bitmap, based program.?you can trace your bitmap in flash and convert it into a vector that is editable.

So how do I convert it so it's editable?

put your bitmap on stage and while it's still selected click modify/bitmap/trace bitmap.?you can generate a photo-quality vector by choosing very strict settings or a more cartoon like vector by loosening the settings.?experiment.
