HTML-files and linked graphics and/or...

I am a starter with Dreamweaver CS4 and following a course with sample html-files, with Vista Ultimate as OS.

When i open the html-files from the original disc, it opens with added pictures and links.

However after copying them to local HDD, they open without the pictures and links.

Has anyone faced a simular problem and/or can anyone give me a plausable solution.

Thanks in Advance.

Carl

HTML-files and linked graphics and/or...

Not totally understanding your question.

Do you have some html files on a disc that you want to work with?

If so, all you need to do is copy *all* the files (html and image files - well everything that is included with the site files on the disc) to a folder on your hard drive.

The next important step is to ensure that you define a site in Dreamweaver - so that DW can create a site cache- so that it keeps track of all the links etc.,

Define a site:

HTML-files and linked graphics and/or...

Dear Nadia,

Thank you for your answer.

I have copied all files again to the local drive, but now including the folder-layout as it is on the original disc.

Double-clicking the html-file on the local drive gives me a layout including the graphics and links.

So the problem seems to be solved.

By the way I am doing the dreamweaver CS4 course (Classroom in a Book, the official training of Adobe) by Pearson Education.

Again thank you for your answer.

Best Regards

Carl
