Move picture to new blank page

I sometimes combine pictures to make one picture.?I make a new blank page 8'' x 10''.?Then I click the Move tool.?I move one picture over to the new blank page but it is so big I have to grab the corner about 6 times to make it small enough to fit.?Is there a way to have it move so it will automatically fit (or close) ??Thank you.

The resolution of the new, blank page, and the resolution of the pictures which you add, should be about the same. For printing, it is desirable to have the resolution=240-300px/in.

In addition, you can resize the pictures, individually, before placing them via Image%26gt;resize%26gt;image size.

The crop tool has its place in this process as well.

I just fine-tune the size with the corner handles of the move tool, pressing the shift key on the keyboard while doing this in order preserve the aspect ratio.

Thank you for the information.?The one thing I wasn't doing was holding down the shift key while making the picture smaller.?I guess that's why when I clicked on something else it got big again.?Appreciate the help.
