Trying to create PDF from Scan

I just loaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on my new iMac.?Everytime I try to create PDF from scanner it says the program had to close.?What is going on here????Please help me!!!

What scanner are you using and does it have a TWAIN scanner driver?

It is a brother MFC-9840CDW.?And it is a TWAIN drive.

Did you Repair Permissions after installing the Acrobat software? It sounds like there are problems with writing the file to where you want it. It may be that you will have to scan the pages with another software and then change them to a PDF.

I am still having the same problem with scanning.?What does a TWAIN printer mean???

You might find this useful as well although it say primarily for Linux, it also useful on Macintosh as well. In fact this will get a Scanner going on Mac, When Acrobat won't accept the Twain Drive for Mac.

Ther are many people that can nevr get a Scanner going in Acrobat unless there is a special Photoshop Plugin avaible for it.?I have a UMAX scanner and even when I had it connected by SCSI (Smal Computing Systems Interface) Acrobat would never accept it. I always had to go to sane project and get the SANE/TWAIN driver package for MacOS X.4 or 3 or 2. To make it work.

I downloaded and installed SANE.?Now acrobat says that it is checking device status and never does anything else.?It just keeps checking.?Any suggestions.?At least it is not closing the program every time I try to scan.

Did you install all the required components:

Front end

Backend

GETTEXT

and so on there are two others.

If so restart computer.

then go to control System preference?and look for sane control panel and open up. look for list of scanners ans uncheck all but for your brand of scanner.

Close.

Then cycle off and on the Scanner either unplug power or unplug and plug the USB cable.

Now go to Acrobat and choose Document %26gt; Scan to Pdf and the select SANE.

Now when set up, you can set some of the other setup adjustments. when you get adjustments set push the scan button in lower left corner.
